Everything is a banana.
It's odd, actually, because Caitriona didn't like bananas the first time. She made a face and refused to eat it.
Then, after a few weeks, she started eating bananas. I would sit on the sofa with her, and peel a banana, and let her lean forward and take a mouthful, and within a few minutes the whole thing was eaten. Except the skin, of course, and even then I often had to salvage it to prevent her from eating that as well.
Then, one day, we gave her a banana and she said, "nannan". We thought maybe it was a random comment, but no, she has taken to saying "nannan" whenever food is in the offing. Or whenever, indeed, she has a desire to eat some food (which is often, these days), and given that she has also learned to point at things, it looks as if a lifetime of duty as waiting staff is ahead of us.
