A walking tour

Apartment block

So we went to Berlin for Easter. We stayed at this apartment on the Stresemannstrasse, opposite the SPD [Social Democrat Party] headquarters, the Willy-Brandt-Haus.

Many Berlin apartments are in blocks like this, and the central courtyard, or hof is usually very quiet, suprising (and delightful) in the middle of a busy city. Our apartment was so central that we were able to walk to the centre, to the Potsdamer Platz, or along the Friedrichstrasse, which begins as a rather grubby area but gets more and more expensive and fancy as you get into the centre.

We spent a week there, surrounded by Easter eggs and pictures of rabbits. We even managed a visit to the zoo. Not the Zoo, the Zoo.

We have pictures. Lots of pictures, including the lovely Caitriona walking - she first started walking without hanging on to things a couple of weeks ago, and now she's a veteran.

So, maybe we will have pictures here soon.
